Gabbie Holds Her New Hand Crocheted Blanket.

One of the support groups in NICU gave Gabbie a new hand crocheted cream colored blanket today. She couldn't be covered with it, as she might over heat, however, she liked the feel of it, so it was placed within her reach. (see pic)

Tuesday - Sinus Infection Discovered.

Ear,Nose & Throat doctor was at bedside today and Gabbie may have gotten a sinus infection that initiated the high temperature (due to brain stem regulation issue) that initiated the seizures & fluid around the brain. Gabbie's IV is out for now & she is on some pretty strong medications. Despite this, Gabbie was peeking at visitors, even opening her eyes wide at some times. She looked better today, however, Nurse Michele reminded us of all the pain that she was in last week during the seizures over a two hour time frame. This, of course, is the last thing that the family wants for Gabbie. Josh wants a Care Conference with the doctors, as we are hearing conflicting things. We are in a real world, so we understand that we have to live in it, however, as Christians, we believe in a higher power with far greater understanding of the whole scheme of things than we ourselves. We must not get in a hurry - we must wait upon Him.

Gabriella: God is My Might.

Above is Gabbie's name meaning in Arabic. Our pastor called today to get an update. He shared this info, as well as Psalm 139 which says that God knows us from the womb. We have been standing on this Psalm since Gabbie's birth-we are grateful that God continues to remind us of His Ways-that He knows her name. Her name falls right in line with the nickname that family has given her, the little Warrior. Pastor also shared Mark 5 that has been laid on his heart. It tells of a little girl gravely ill, and Jesus speaks to her, "Arise Little Girl" and Jesus heals her. Gabbie had 3 seizures-2 throughout the night (Sunday) and one today, Monday. As a result, a CT scan was done, revealing the same diagnosis from last month, that her Brain appears to be shrinking (not developing as it should) and that the brain stem is not regulating properly. There appears to be some swelling of fluid around the brain & seems to be what may be causing the fever/seizures. Thus causing Gabbie's eyes in this pic to look scattered and unfocused. We know what the doctors have said previous and are saying now. God reminds us daily that the Wisdom and the Power of God is far greater that the wisdom of men. We believe in a Risen Savior, God the Father & Holy Spirit. We know that His Ways are not our ways. We know that He chooses to heal in His Own Way. We will wait for God's healing within Gabbie and know that this little girl will indeed arise and overcome.

Nurse Carolyn's Devotion This Weekend.

Nurse Carolyn's calm & gentle spirit was exactly what the family & Gabbie needed this weekend. She devoted her time & attention to Gabbie all weekend-Friday, Saturday and Sunday - 12 hr day shifts. Her careful explanation of everything she was doing and of the medications she was giving Gabbie was appreciated and very helpful to the family. Thankyou so much, Nurse Carolyn.
