Hello Family. Sorry that this update is a day late. Gabbie came through surgery well w/o any issues. Gortex patch was removed and no infection was found. Gabbie's skin had already started growing & covering the wound-the surgeon was pleasantly surprised, we understand. Wound care began almost immediately and will continue with application of medicated cremes and daily care, as before. As far as is known, the surgery was about 1.5 hrs and so was her recovery time. However, after recovery, she did not awaken during the 2 hrs of family visits. A new central line was put in today (Friday afternoon) by Dr. Green, her Primary Neonatologist, and Gabbie has been doing well all day. Mom is currently at the hospital for a lengthy visit tonight. Will update you as more is known. Thankyou for all the email responses of prayers and support. We know that we can count on our family and friends to be there for us.
