Gabbie's Birthday (month) day was no regular day! She started off the early morning, by pulling a "houdini" on Night Primary Nurse Laura, getting her sock off and pulling out her feeding tube. (She has been perfecting this trick for several days!) Bright & early, the feeding tube was tried back in at bedside and x-ray'd for placement, but to no avail. It was tried again, all in the process, missing her first round of medication. (causing later agitation) Another x-ray and it was almost in place, so the decision was made to start 1/2 feeds (20 ml) and see if the formula would work the tube on into place. After some inital stomach secretion backup, the tube seemed to be in the correct place, and full feeds and medication was given for Gabbie's anxiety, due to all the early morning activity and late bath & traech time. Nurse Angie dressed her in the Lil FireCracker onesie, as she was definitely one of those for the nurses today! Finally, after a couple hour nap during quiet time, family arrived to a happy Gabbie, ready to play and visit.
